Hello, I live in northern Tasmania and started out with with bees  only 3 years ago when i bought 4 old hives off a fella selling up. I have slowly built them up to a dozen hives  after doing some splits and getting 2 swarms from a friend this year. I've also lost a couple along the way   Though they produce a lovely honey here on the farm this season I had the opportunity to take 6 hives up to a spot in some temperate rainforest to a Leatherwood site this year which has been great!  :)

most often i find my greatest source of stress to be OPS  ( other peoples stupidity )

It is better to keep ones mouth shut and be thought of as a fool than to open ones mouth and in so doing remove all doubt.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Another Tasmanian!!!!
We'll soon have enough to gang up a bit!  Welcome to the forum.  You will find plenty of helpful advice and friends here.  And thanks for the reminder, I must get my hands on some fresh Leatherwood Honey.  A couple of guys were out at Oonah today in the misty rain taking the full supers off.  Apparently they took a hammering  :lau:  (I'll give them a couple of days to itch and extract)

Thank you for the welcome!!   :)
I got to spin off the 1st lot of leatherwood last week.  It perfumed the house with that most divine smell of leatherwood and the honey tastes fantastic. I haven't worked this out yet but why is it that your own honey always tastes better lol
