Wow...I surely didn't mean for all of this...The one thing I will admit is that the context of what is typed vs. hearing it verbally from someone can have a huge difference in interpretation and that may be where I went wrong with my comment the other day...I don't remember who said it, but so you know, I have thick enough skin and belong to many different types of websites like this as I have been blessed with many hobbies over the years...I'm still a very new newbee as experience goes with this hobby, and I very much appreciate the input...I will leave it at that and hope to be able to meet some of you great people in the future, and if not, I will most definitely enjoy the camaraderie on here that so many of you have.

I've noticed some folks seem to be getting testy about certain things. Several years ago I was doing a goat forum board like I'm doing this one (reading, reading, reading! I'm on about page 16 or 17 now). It seem that some folks didn't like anyone having a differing opinion. Don't matter to me. I'm reading and wading through it.

I really do appreciate the time a lot of you have took to answer my goofy questions. There is truly a wealth of information on this forum as well as some  The written form of communication is most difficult. It leaves out the facial expressions that smooths things over. Yall keep up the good work.

jeep,
this thread isn't complaining about your comment, it's agreeing with it.  i think you're just collateral damage from another situation.
SOME of the hostility you may have seen recently isn't the norm on here.  there are some people that seem to like to push buttons, though.
don't let all this stop you from joining in.  overall there is a good group of people on here.

Sec bee,you have made some valid points Some who had yet to experience bees were giving lots of advice, some good, some bad, And you are also correct in doing your homework if you have your doubts, The option to view a profile and someone's previous posts can often give you peace of mind on choosing to follow said members advice.
as you have been spending more time here,I have neglected my duties here a little bit by spending more time with other activities all things withstanding. But I am rarely more than an email notification away if something arises.
so was they say, caveat emptor, this is a forum where thoughts and ideas are exchanged, and rarely will we all agree on any concept.  We need to keep this in mind as we interact with each other,be kind and agree to disagree. We would not sensor anyone for being new,and hopefully the interactions can make us all better beekeepers in one way or another.

Thanks for the reply Ken. I hope I keep it civil and was not out of line. You guys have other lives other than this forum. Thanks for all you guys do. I would start calling names but do not want to leave anyone out.
Is the guy from fla. with the Tx name still around?

Many years ago, when I was a young mechanic learning to do valve jobs on cars, I had many different 'teachers' that were experienced in the process.  Each and every one of them had a difference or two for doing some process different than another and had a reason for doing so.  What transpired was I adapted all of the education from the good and bad, assessed and came up with my own method.

That general process has followed me throughout my life with every new process I learn to do.  Even the least educated may have a very pertinent point in the process.  But to blindly follow all advice one gets over the internet could prove to be a foolish thing to do.

Common sense is dying in this world, but the reality of it is, that so many experts are out there, that common sense gets covered with the bull manure.
