Shelf life for pollen after frost

Hey all,

We've had several good frost around here. However, that don't stop my bees from bringing it in. I'm sure there could be some micro climates here and there that survived the frost and upper 20's temp. But that had me wondering just how long can a bee harvest pollen off of a plant after it dies? Red, yellow, and a wet white looking pollen.

No scientific evidence, but I have been told, they get goldenrod pollen all winter. There may be others, too.

Sure all those hardy plants will rebloom after a frost. 2 yrs ago we (michigan) had a "winter that never was" & I found star thistle blooms in January. It's the frost in the earth that shuts them down

About the only thing I see blooming is some kind of white bush - but not around here. Everything else around here is dead - dead.
