What a way to start a season!!  I received a call to remove a swarm which apparently settled in the tree only 2 weeks ago. The guy mentioned on the phone that there is some white stuff showing - probably wax. Well have a look at the photo. After working on it for 2 days I filled 10 frames with brood and let them settle at the property under the tree. let's hope I managed to get the queen in as i did not see her. Hopefully they will be ready to be taken away in a weeks time unless SHB get stuck into them.

That's a whopper! They must be on a good flow to build that much comb in 2 weeks!

Nice.  Must have been a big swarm.

Hey Ozebee,
Mind if I take a copy of the pic for my albumn to show school kids/folks different pics of natural nests and swarms?

ozebee

No problem - feel free to use.

If you like that register on www.swarmpatrol.com and you will be notified of swarms and colonies like this.  See you on there.
