I am researching the Flora & Fauna of the 9 islands of "The Azores" off the coast of Portugal, I am wondering about the Beekeeping and Beekeepers there, the Internet search engines come up zero.
I am enlisting the help of our European Friends to give me some insight.

Thanks in Advance  :)

QB - you might like to try googling the beekeepingforum.co.uk - they have a number of european english speaking beekeepers that are on the forum that might be able to help/assit/point you in the right direction.

best of luck

Hi,
as they say in Portugal, "better late than never"  :-D
Here is an excellent Portuguese beekeeping blog and an article about beekeeping in the Azores.
not being able to post the sites in question, because to identify as spam.
do a search on google (apicultura na Ilha Terceira - AÇORES) (CONCURSO DE MEL: Feira Agrícola Açores 2010) blog (montedomel)
You can also contact the Fruter - Association of Producers of Fruits, Vegetables and floricultural of the Island Terceira , who also produce honey.
I have helped.
best regards
paulo
