I have about 400 sheets of this foundation. I measured it last year and I think it was about 5.4 mm. I wish it was 4.9. It would help with mite control.
I have not seen 4.9 plasticell for sale.

It's definitely not 4.9 mm.
I use Rite Cell foundation a lot, think I've got 4 cases of a hundred out there.

I feel like I just was talked to by a celebrity!

I am new this year and started with two hives.  Have been doing drone comb removal and thought by the end of the summer I may just buy mite away quick strips to feel safe and do what my local guys do.

And then I found your web site and feel like I am about ready to drink the "natural" kool aid and wait for the weak bees to die and strong ones survive. I have really enjoyed your writings on your site.

Sorry, I don't have any "kool aid"... nor do I have a "one size fits all" "orthodox" methodology.  I just keep trying things and I talk about how those things worked for me so you can make your own choice...  It think some people would like that and it's tempting to write up "a" method (not "THE" method) that I would recommend that would save a beginner having to make so many decisions when they have so little actual experience upon which to base those decisions, as a starting point.

I think the whole "treatment" philosophy is based on a human failing of wanting to "do something even if it's wrong".

Hotburn,

Sometimes you just have to treat or loose a hive. Fatbeeman summed it up pretty good. "If you're all mecidined up, you don't feel like doing much, bees are the same way."

Other good points taken from this board, "If they ain't sick, don't treat them."
