So the other day I did a full inspection and noticed the queen laying, capped brood, and some big cells misidentified as queen cells.  Kind of concerned of potential swarming I did the checkerboard thing and added a new deep w/non drawn foundation.  This morning I noticed several pre emerged drones dead on the ground at the entryway.  Comments?

I wouldn't worry too much. There are always dead bees.
It could have been cells that got injured during your inspection, or it could be that you have hygienic bees and they're cleaning out varroa infected drones. Either way, I doubt it's a problem.
