I just went into my hive. They are doing awesome! They had my three FoundationLess frames in my bottom deep drawn out completely, have filled the FL frame I had moved up to the middle last time with nectar, and are starting to have combs built on either side of that one. One of the FL in the bottom deep they drew into what looked like drone comb to me, so I left that down below for them in case they wanted that, and just moved one of my other frames up next to one of the beginning-to-be-drawn frames and replaced that empty spot with another FL frame. There were no queen or swarm cells on any of the frames although I didn't really go into the center bottom brood too much. I did see larva and capped brood but still can't make out the eggs. I also saw that they're finally having some capped honey around the tops of the frames like you always see in pictures! That was the best part today! That and how incredibly straight they're building! I think I have straight bees! Lol! Everything was very neat and orderly! Except for the propolis. They really LoVe to glue things together! Lol But even that is done with thought and order! Lol I didn't happen to see the queen but I had a great feeling being in there and I think that counts for something! ;) I'm confident that everything is as it should bee.

Glad alls well BGirl. It is a nice feeling sitting back knowing that the hives working like it should. I remember my first year it was torture staying out. Keep up the good work. G

This is my fourth year and I still get that feeling. This is a tricky place to raise bees and I've lost a lot of colonies, but I'm pretty sure I can figure it out. It's always nice to go look at the hives and see things going as they should.

Thanks guys. I'm pretty exceited things are going so well. They have plenty of room now so I'm going to leave them alone for two weeks. It is super hard to think I won't be able to see them for so long.

but I read that it sets them back everytime you open them. I 've read anywhere from a few days to two weeks. That's scary to think about! I want them to move forward, not back. It's so nice to follow their progess though.

I'm sorry about your losses Rurification. I guess practice makes perfect, or at least will give us different ideas. Good luck!
