Last weekend, went in my only hive ( 2 deep 10s) didn't see any drones or drone cells ,plenty of good looking capped brood, and 2nd deep that i thought was water had eggs, but am kind of concerned about no drones

They know when to stop making them. I wouldn't worry. They are just store wasters anyway. Until it comes time for rearing queens. My hives are still loaded. I took half the surplus yesterday, I expect they will start evicting drones soon. G

Bees have to have a certain number of bees in the hive and a surplus of food coming in to make drones.

Does that mean the box is weak, cause late in the afternoon there are lots of workers doing their job,and the hive is active

More than likely they do not have enought stores comng in or stored up to support drones.

Bees don't just make drones for no reason.  They make them under very specific circumstances of resources, flows, population and time of year.  When the conditions are such that it is a burden on the colony, they don't make drones.
