Hi guys. In other post I read for tupelo honey. I google it but I didn't find information about the botanic origin or the tree origin. I found a tupelo honey cafe and a Van Morrison's song  Anybody know's about the tupelo honey? Thanx!

It's from a particular tree that grows in the swampy area in the florida panhandle. It has be certified to be called Tupelo honey. Don't know to much more about it.

Our Tupelo here in VA is Nyssa Sylvatica.

I hear it's great honey! I want to try that and the sourwood honey.
I'd rather be playing with venomous insects

Tupelo and sourwood are two of my favorite honeys.  I don't get either here and I have to buy them.  Seems silly to buy honey when I always seem to have plenty of honey... but they are quite special.  I also like thyme and eucalyptus quite a bit.

How do you feel about buckwheat honey?  I bought some at a farm stand south of Gettysburg and really liked it

I've had some buckwheat that I liked a lot.  I've had some other that had a bad aftertaste.  Maybe one was pure and the other mixed with something.  But which is which?

Anyone have an idea if the eucalyptus honey comes from the species of eucalyptus they are planting to extract essential oils and such from.  Or which species makes the good honey.  Would probably plant a few just for kicks.

Michael Bush

I think most of the Eucalyptus honey comes from Australasia where they have hundreds of species.
