I thought I was being careful using the oxalic acid vapor.
I treated around 75 or so hives one day and got a small whif of vapor 3 times.
Next day I was coughing when taking breaths of air.
The I treated 5 hives here to show a feller how to use it.
Two days later I went to a neighbors house down the road and treated 2 hives and got a small whif.
I am now laid up with congested lungs.
I've had current flu and pneumonia shots.
I am not using oxalic acid vapor any more with a respirator.
A small whif is all it takes.
I love the way it works with bees.
Just thought I'd warn ya.

Good to know.
One more reason not to treat Beas.

Capt, keep us posted on your condition, please.

What kind of respirator were you earing?  I use a respirator for a lot of things, but may need a better one to work with OA.

I think he meant "without" a respirator. I take it he was wearing none...

I went to the VA emergency room and seen a doc.
They said I had pneumonia.
Ain't got a clue how I got that.
I told them of the Oxalic Acid vapor and they had to look it up.
I am showing no signs of chemical poisoning at this time but I still have some test results I'm waiting for.
They run a camera down my throat and down into my lungs and so far no chemical contamination.
But what I've read about it so far I am going to use a respirator.
Whew! so far so good cept for the pneumonia part.

Yeah, I wondered.  I wear a good respirator and a full-face shield over it when I work with chemicals.  I was thinking about forgetting about OAV after reading his first post.  Capt, you skeered me, man!
