Had one hive to learn on last year. Made it thru the winter.  Yea
Built two new hives and a Nuc box.
Did my first split.  Waiting for my bees to rebound.  Found a lot of queen cells.  Put frame in Nuc box with nice sealed cell. Left other queen cells in older hive. Because while inspecting the queen had no good pattern. Looks like they are going to replace her. Letting Mother Nature do her thing.  Hope to learn a lot from everyone.  This rookie needs all the help he can get. Main goal this year is to raise bees, make as many splits as possible and build more healthy hives.  Become a great beekeeper
Thanks for your time

Don't plan on making too many splits. That is a good way to loose all of your hives.
