Man guard bees can get ya when ya least expect it  :cheesy: I was simply adjusting a super on top of a deep that somehow had moved out of line a bit and got tagged through the crack from inside on the middle finger.... Now can't make a fist without middle finger standing straight up swollen and unable to bend. Going to have to be careful I don't offend anyone hahahahaha....

Little buggers can sure get ya when least expected and I bet there are a thousand stories of stings from nowhere you never saw coming...

It happens so often you don't even think of them as stories anymore...

And after a while you won't have to worry about swelling up and offending your friends.

Yeah the swelling has already almost gone now and I can clearly remember my short mental debate about using gloves to to it and thinking no  :embarassed:

Instead of adding heavy gloves, smoke your hands real good before going into the hives.
Gloves do not allow you to feel the bees before you crush them and they sting the gloves. Then you put the stung glove back in the hive, more bees sting it and they get more and more aggressive. If you have to wear gloves, use the thin vinyl ones.

Nugget I was staring up at a swarm trap day before yesterday as a swarm was moving in and in the chaos of the swarming cloud of bees....a bee flew into me....mustache and goatee she hit my upper lip and I guess got tanlged in my facial hair.....and stung me IN my right nostril....I will take a finger sting any time ;-)

Sorry Jeff, but almost spit my coffee laughing at the mental picture that gave me. I have allot of fur on my head and face as well and one day may have to deal with that myself.

Gardening this arvo about a metre from the side of the hive (something I often do without a problem) when I was hit just under my glasses and right beside my nose. Little beastie wasn't content with leaving her sting embedded but spent the next 30 seconds or so trying hit me with several more stings around my ear. I was really glad she had only one and that she was the only one that didn't like me.

That bee must have really been mad at you....

Bees will hold a grudge when you hurt their sisters.

Well they are bees, they have a stinger.  If you mess with them they will mess with you and they are not afraid to give up their life to do it.
