Hi all,

I had an offer on some cheap plywood sheeting 2400x1200 coming in from overseas as lining in shipping containers. However I'm wondering when it goes  through quaranteen,  they will probably spray it with insecticide. This would make it unsuitable for Nuc building, wouldn't it?

Does anyone have experience with Australian quaranteen who knows exactly what may happen to it?

Thanks.

Hi, I used to work in import/export - sometimes products are treated pre shipping, in which case the shippingg docs will state what process the product underwent pre shipping. Here in australia only methyl bromide is used for aqis fumigation - it kills everything but no residue is left - completely safe and non toxic 1 hour after the container is treated.

Thanks. Good to hear Aussie treatment isn't an issue. Not sure on the other end. Don't know if there will be any paperwork, as its parts, not product I believe.

After some reading, it says Methyl Bromide also isn't toxic to be in either case, case if that's all the treatment the boards get, it should be all good.

Thanks everyone.

Russell.
