Added my second brood box today to my nuc hive. Everything seemed to go well. Went in my package hive as well. All the pics are from it. They seem to be doing great as well. Should have new bees in it tomorrow or Saturday. Is that just some odd colored pollen or something else?  It?s night and day difference between the two hives. The package is just laid back. They never come up. The nuc is more aggressive. Never took a sting yet but they will come out and pop my hand when I move it over it.

That's some good looking frames.  The dark pollen could be from crimson clover.  The pollen in my hives right now is either bright yellow or a very dark grey to almost black.  I have fields near me with a cover crop of crimson clover, rye grass and rape.

Added second brood box on mine too. The frames are less filled in that yours but are very similar. My bees are also bringing in an almost black pollen too. Not sure what it is.

Very well could be. I had a lot of crimson in my food plots. It?s just about done. Actually mowed a bunch of it yesterday.

Nice brood pattern. How many frames look like that.  When they hatch, that hive will be more than double in strength. Be ready to add a super.

3 1/2 frames capped like that.

Make sure you have several supers ready for each hive.
