As I was watching a landing board the other day, I saw a drone return and go back into the hive.  I greeted him, saying "well, today wasn't your day with the ladies, huh?" as I chuckled a bit to myself knowing that if he was returning, he obviously wasn't successful in mating on that flight.

Then I got to thinking, do drones experience a walk of shame when they return to the hive? Do the nurse bees look at them with disgust because they have to keep feeding them and cleaning up after them?  Do they look at them like, "you got one job, Frank...ONE JOB!".  I just wonder...

I come from under the hill, and under the hills and over the hills my paths led.  And through the air, I am she that walks unseen.

I may need to hire a drone Physicoligist. I have a bunch of them returning.

Very funny post.
However, I am wondering if you are projecting your feelings onto the bees. (transfer or attribute one's own emotion or desire to (another person), especially unconsciously)
Have you been neglecting your honey do list recently?
