My home made 9 frame radial extractor

Not one for half measures I decided to make my own 9 frame extractor. My nephew who is a welder of stainless steel made the spinner cage and I made the rest from scrape iron and a sheet of Colorbond.The self draining bottom was fashioned from an old satellite dish.
It is powered by a high torque low RPM drill designed for stirring paint and plaster mixes.

Nice job Wombat. I cannot tell but if your drain is pointing down with the drain in the center of the bottom, it will probably work better than my commercial unit.

I made the bottom out of an old satelite dish ( which turned out to elipitcal - not round - grrr) and yes the tap is in the middle and is self draining.  I built it high enough off the floor to get a 30 kg bucket with a double seive on it but the first use the flow out was faster than the seive could cope so now I run straight into the bucket and seive later

A center drain is good for cleaning but a side port would give you some settling of debris making straining easier and access to the port easier.
