Borrowed this from another bee forum, found it interesting.

Yes rast this is very interesting. I quickly noticed a couple of things.

"Bee venom is the most valuable product produced by honeybees, with prices varying from $30.00 USD up to $300.00 per gram, depending on the purity, composition, and / or preparation of the product.
Though widely studied and used in alternative medicine, recent efforts in bee venom research have focused on its therapeutic and cosmetic applications, for the treatment of degenerative and infectious diseases."

I know a fellow who claims to have had a skin cancer spot. After placing several bees, stinging him in this area 'thoroughly' he claims that it killed the cancer.  True or False; I cannot confirm or deny.

"Interestingly, we discovered that the "angry bees" that reacted intensively to our stimulating devices produced a richer, more protein-dense bee venom."
"The overall quantity of venom released by bees relies on the alarm pheromone secretion that induces other bees to aggressively react by stinging. This may be a result of changes in genetics that can provoke aggression in bees."

Makes me wonder if the same goes for a strain of aggressive bee? I am thinking of the Africanized Honey bee here in the Americas..

How is bee venom collected?

I know how I personally collect it :embarassed:, google this.   collecting bee venom

If bee venom has all the health benefits that it is claimed to have, then beekeepers should be some of the healthy people on the planet.
Despite my efforts the bees are doing great

Brian,
Bee venom has made a big difference in my life. Before I started beekeeping, I couldn?t raise my left arm above my shoulder. Within six months that problem went away. If I do not get stung for long periods of time, I start having arthritis problems. As soon as I start getting stung again the problems subside.

"... if bees attack the panels, how do they not die? Are you saying they can release bee venum by not stinging?"

"When a bee stings a soft place (for example human skin), she loses her stinger and a part of her body. However, when she stings a hard place like a glass surface in our bee venom collector, a bee is unharmed because it can not penetrate the glass.

When the bees come to the panel they can feel low frequency that irritates them, and so they put their stinger in between two wires. At that point, the bees eject bee venom to the glass panel and return to the hive. So, they actually sting the air and release their bee venom in the air above the glass panel."

Yes...but I wouldn't want to work that hive because ...wouldn't the bees get crabby from being constantly irritated?
Maybe they would sting theri beek constantly but with little effect...?
