I recently ordered some woodware and foundation from Dadant Paris Texas branch. I ordered on Wednesday, had it on Friday. Excellent , and the freight was cheap, since I only live exactly 100 mile from their Texas branch. But, one iten I ordered was a screened bottom board...it was back ordered...I wasn't charged for it on the statement I recieved. But yesterday I did recieve the back ordered bottom board. A $11.95 Item cost $23.00 with the shipping. Not Dadants fault. The lesson learned is ask if the item is in stock, and if not don't order. Wait till I have another order and then if its in stock, get it so the shipping will be in the combined cost.
It is an excellent well constructed board and I will be installing it today.

One more thought, the next time I need supplies I think I could find someone from Texarkana going to Paris and offer to pay part of their gas to pick up what I need.......a penny saved is a penny earned
Make a plan...BUT....Don't plan the outcome

i order most of my horse stuff on line.  if something is back ordered, i usually get a call, or they send it and don't charge extra for shipping.  last time, they charged the bulk shipping rate on the first bill, and then didn't add extra shipping for the back ordered item.

i'd give them a call.  could be a shipping error.  at least they'll know that you were not to happy to get charged separate shipping without someone letting you know.

When ordering by either phone or over the net it is best to stipulate to ship when order is complete.  I bought frames and foundation this year from Mann Lake on a sale.  they shipped it (the foundations and the frames) separately but didn't charge me extra on the the shipping.  I order some nuc boxes from Dadant so I could get a pattern for building my own--they sent me a hive stand instead of one of the nuc boxes--it was serendipity that I'd ordered more than 1 nuc box.
