How do you pronounce Varroa ??

I have only read the word varroa, and as I read it I say  "va - roar - ah" Silly question but it is bugging me. I may need to say it to someone, and would like to pronounce it correctly.

Most of the time I say it wrong to. but the name don't bother me that much. It's them little critters that I hate. And I've got some now that I'am trying to get to understand that they are NOT welcome here.  :x

I can't say it's right, but it's what I've heard most peoepl say.  vuh ROW uh.

While were're at it, how do you pronounce propolis?  
PROP oh lus or proe Pah lus ?

I guess I have heard it both ways. The way I pronounce propolis, rhymes with metropolis.

Are Varroa or Propolis in your dictionary?  They weren't in the ones I tried.

actually .....  yes
 prop-o-lis  n,  a resinous substance collected from various plants by honeybees and used together with wax in the construction of  their hives.
     
  var-ro-a  n,  a reddish-brown oval mite(varroa jacobsoni) that is a parasite of honeybees.  new latin varroa, genus name,after Varro, Marcus Terentius.
