I had some deep boxes in a barn for storage that had some drawn comb in some and some with damaged comb. They were left in the sun for days and melted together. Last week a swarm found the hive with damaged comb and moved in. My ? is, how do I remove the damaged comb when the queen is laying eggs already in it. The second thing is the girls have comb hanging from the cover with eggs in them with pollen. What do I do? Should I let them clean up the bad comb? Thanks in advance.

don't want to misslead you but..if they like it, and it doesn't bother you...ah well, better to wait what the more experienced keepers have to say.

I might try putting another box with good comb on the bottom and this box on top. Sooner or later they will move the brood nest down then you can harvest the honey they put in the bad comb

I'd leave them for the winter, now.  In the spring I'd cut all the wild brood comb and tie it into frames and cut all the honey comb and harvest it.

I would leave them alone for the winter too.  IN the spring I would switch add boxes below the current box and work it up and out of the hive.  I'd then harvest the honey in it my the crush and strain method then clean up the frames and put new foundation into them.
