I've noticed somes yellow stains on the front of one of my hives. Today I decided to wash it off. What I found was, that it was more than just a stain. Some of it was at least  1/16 inch maybe a little thicker, and it was very hard to get off. Some of it I had to scrape off with a pocket knive.
Is this a typical  sign of nosema?

Yellowish color is normal.

If it was dark brown, theny they are suffering for some level of dysentery.

Nosema can only be diagnosed by looking ant the bee internals under a microscope.

Bees with dysentery may or may not have nosema.

Is it normal for it to be that thick?
