7:30 PM, +5 celsius (41 F).  Good weather, it is after supper, kitchen cleaned up, still warm outside, I know, I walked around the yard.  Best of days.  Cindi

It's a few degrees warmer in Atlanta. Not much but a few. I am staying inside my hotel room and running up the heating bill. :)

Finsky, I see that you are ahead of me by 10 hours.  Now I know.  I do not pay heed to the time zones, too much for this mind.  I was at 7:30 P.M.and you are responding at your time of 5:43 (obviously A.M.).  I could not see the picture of your pipes from my computer?????  We have had so many service interruptions this winter due to a new power station being installed to better serve our community.  What a laugh!!!!  We have been so cold, even in our temperate zone.  We have had to rely heavily on our hurricane lamps.  Still wonder why they are called that.  Dumb if you ask me.  We do not live in hurricane zone.  But we experience cold in so many different ways, the humidty is hard to deal with.

I am very glad to hear your power station working without interruptions.

I see that now you are again displaying your beautiful bee beard.  I'm sorry that you felt that you did not want it displayed for some time, you must have been angry right off.  But, life does carry on, now doesn't it????  Good for you.  That is something that you should be proud of.

Let's get other members of our forums to display pictures of their beards if they have ever had the gumption to allow all these girls to surround their head and torso.  This is a challenge to all the members, male or female.  Let's go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Let's see what we can see!!!  All the best of days.  Cindi

I guess that is fine. Seems someone else has been doing it for some unknown reason.

The necessary evil of creating a process where members  cannot immediately post is not something you won't have to live through much longer - we validate members, not on post count but on content of character, so I suggest you post when you feel like you have something to say and NOT just one liners that don't impress anyone. And don't get discouraged, it is for the good of the members and make a forum where you'd be content to have a parent or child sit and read your posts or replies.

Ideally, you'll be around a while and the delay of a introductory period won't matter much a month down the road. You'll find (I see you wrote you have been lurking) that it is friendly here and no one is biting anyone Else's head off - ever. So, relax and enjoy yourself and as we have now entered our forth season of the forum, what changes and evolution has occurred has ALWAYS been for the better.

This method of keeping people in the lime-light is necessary, since we have had spammers who rudely sent pornographic images to a dozen plus members after signing up. This is nothing against you or anyone, it is to protect the forum. Your images worked fine and AT ANYTIME ask the Mod Staff to post images or links if you need them done - I'm sure that is in the "welcome area" (it helps to read them stickies we write) and soon enough you'll be posting links and images both :)  Eventually EVERYONE can/does!

You will never see advertisements here, and that is because of the generous members who have made our forum possible. We are in our second decade as a beekeeping forum and all thanks to member support. At the top right of every page is a donations link. Please help if you can.

Oh, great. I'll NEVER get to post a picture!!

Just kidding - that sounds fair enough. No empty one liners from me.

I really appreciate this site. I haven't needed to post often since most of my questions have already been asked, and the answer is just a search away. I'm sure once the spring has sprung and the bees are buzzing, I'll have a LOT more questions.

For now, I'll kick back, keep learning, and chime in when I have some thing of substance to add or ask.

Thank you John for all you do.

-John (Drone)

By the way, did you like the pictures?

Drone

Doh!

Sorry for the confusion, I answered under my wife's user name.

One of the hazards of sharing a computer, I guess.

Finsky,

Since the subject of the subject of "the bee beard picture" came up:  which one is really you?...the bee-bearded, Heath Ledger-ish guy in the icon or the slightly crazed guy with the birch branch in the sauna picture (see colony collapse disorder post, pg 2). Or are they one and the same?
