Yesterday I reversed my hive boxes. I let the bees winter in 4 mediums and found in both hives all four boxes stuffed full of bees. I mean there are a ton of bees in there and they are raising more. I broke some bridge comb and exposed very mature larvae. They are bringing in pollen like crazy, but nothing is really blooming as far as I can see so I don't know where all the pollen is from. I fed them each 2 gallons of 1:1 syrup and medicated with Terramyacin.

I am afraid of swarms at this point as there are so many bees. Really, amazing amounts. Should I split each hive (never have done this before), or just throw a super on top to give them room. I know I can't use what they would put in the super because of the terramyacin as well as the syrup but I feel like they need more room.
After 18 months of reading and preparation, my girls finally arrived on April 11th (2006)!
