weak hive and a swarm

i have a weak hive that has maybe 3 pounds of bees in it. what would happen if i dumped a strong swarm into the hive? would the strongest queen win and would i double the number of bees in the colony? has anyone tried this?

Do a newspaper combine and take one of the queens and some of the bees and put them in a small nuc.

i added the swarm to the weak hive and this morning it was violent at the hive opening! so many dead bees...i won't be doing that again!

Did you do a newspaper combine?
Did you have two entrances one on top and one on the bottom?

Or did you just put them together with one entrance?
