Can anyone tell what makes Nutty Flavord Honey.
I have pecan's, hickory nut's,  perciman and just one chestnut in my area.
For those who live in Ga. The tree that has big leafs and blooms a purple bloom and has round pods.
Paloma or something like that.

Is your query for Georgia only?  If not, I've read that Hawaiian Macadamian nectar honey tastes similar to the nut.

QuoteTropical Hawaii produces two special honeys, macadamia nut and lehua (made from nectar of the lehua tree). Lehua has a pronounced flavor with a slightly salty aftertaste. It's frequently sold as creamed honey because it tends to crystallize. Macadamia nut honey, on the other hand, is very slow to crystallize. It has a nutty flavor and aroma.

I've got some of the lehua honey & I would not describe it as "salty".  It has sort of a petroleum quality to my palette, seems oily too.  :-P

Almond blossom honey is also, reportedly, nutty flavoured.

honeydew will taste nuty dont know if you ever came across it.there are difernt kinds I dont like it. only get it when nectar from plants wont make surplus.in my state its off aphids on oaks&cedar trees. many other incects make it also.the sugars are complex and not the best for bees. RDY-B

Usually they buy powdered nuts and add them to the honey...
