I've tried to find the Oxalic Acid powder or crystals at Lowes - HD - Ace hardware without any luck.  I believe it's sold as a wood bleach.  Nothing I see has Oxalic Acid in it....much less pure Oxalic Acid Dehydrate

Does anyone know where it can be bought and it what form does it come in..?  Thanks..

Robo

I've bought it at both True Value and Lowe's.   The one I have handy right now is branded Savogran and is called Oxalic Acid Wood Bleach and came in a 12oz white plastic tub.   Not sure which store I got this particular one from.  I do remember having difficulty finding it at Lowe's,  and when I did, it was not where I had expected it.  It was 3 years ago or so,  so I don't recall the exact details.

most wood bleaches I have seen had other ingredients in it, now if you look for a wood toner then you might can find the Hood brand, they say its straight oxalic acid..

Robo: I'm still looking... I've been to Lowe's twice -  -they said they had it or remembered having it.  They weren't sure where it was though..I looked in the paint dept. - the cleaning supply dept. even looked in the cement supplies around the muriatic acid, no luck so far.

Home Depot.... no luck there either - Ace - no luck.  I'll try True Value on Saturday...

Ted:  Do you have the Hood Wood toner or just know about it. I looked it up but I don't see a distributor around here.

I found it at Service Star hardware.  It's by DAP - Wood Bleach  - Oxalic Acid crystals - white plastic tub - 12 oz. -$6.50, cheap enough.  I guess anyone that carries a complete line of DAP wood finishes, etc. will have the wood bleach also.

I appreciate the leads y'all gave me.....

It's in a little tub. None of the people at the hardware store will know what oxalic acid is, but they may be able to help you find the wood bleach.  I've bought DAP brand and the Savogran brand.
