All three hives are alive.  Cluster on the two stronger ones are still in the middle which makes me think they still have food in the middle.  Not many dead bees in those two hives.  The weaker of the three had quite a few dead bees they moved out and put on top of the inner cover.  I would say 300 dead bees, maybe more. Very active, lots of noise in that weaker hive..

We hit 50F today so I wasn't worried about heat loss.  I had the lids open for about 10 seconds total on each one.  I thought of feeding but didn't want to rile them up by chipping ice away from the reduced entrances.  I think they will make it.

The Weather Underground link in my sig showing a low temperature compared to what we have right now.  It's now 45F

If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce would today cost $100, get a million miles per gallon, and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.

Ooh, I like that sig idea, I may steal it (Wunderground is my favorite weather page!)

Well, I guess I'm not smart enough to steal it - how did you get that to show up?  The code they say to copy doesn't seem to work  :(

Yes. We did a thorough inspection today as well since the temperature hit 60 F. I started a journal last year to help keep track of our trials and tribulations...

get the weather report for your city then go about halfway down and see the section "get a free weather sticker for your website"  There are the instructions there.

checked at lunch today too. All 5 flying, w/ lots of bees doing orintation flights. All bringing in pollen, all eating some candy board and some were using Bee-pro I had laid out on an innercover in the yard. Still likely to have one more winter weather pattern before its all over...Makes the decision to put on pollen patty difficult decision. Dont want to start too early...
