The bees have been dragging in pollen all day today by the truck load :-D
For the life of me I can not figure out where they are getting it from  :?
Are there plants that hold on to pollen through the winter ?
Took a little walk about and could find nothing that they were working on or anything they could work on for that matter. Never the less they were packing the stuff in like mad.

Maple trees (supposedly Holly trees but I've never seen this), certain nut trees are blooming now. Crocuses have just started (and have bright orange pollen). Various other bulbs will be up soon as well, and Apples. Quince if you have them around you might be blooming now.

Humm... trucker bees.... guess that makes the queen a muther trucker.

Try saying that ten times really fast.

I agree it must be maples - you can't walk up there very well!
There is nothing new under the sun. Only your perspective changes to see it anew.

Do you have any skunk cabbage in a wetlands near you?  It's just starting to bloom up here right now, and it's loaded with yellow pollen.
