I was reading an article about the different species of bees, pros and cons. The article said Itilans are the best for comb building. Anyone have any knowledge of this or know what species  is best for comb building?

I think there is more difference from colony to colony than from race to race.  But that is one of the qualities that is stated for Italians.  ALL bee build comb.  It's what they live on.

If you actually want COMB honey, then the darker bees usually make better looking comb honey as they leave a slight air space which makes the comb nice and white, as opposed to Italians who leave it kind of "wet" looking.
