With temps running in the 80's, is that too hot to treat with powdered sugar? Do just the lower brood hive?

no it is not to hot. Treat each hive body. I use mediums and will be treating tomorrow I will treat each med. and place them back togather. I will also check frames and make sure all is well and see how they have gone with drawing out the frames.

You may treat with powdered sugar.

This is why you live in Florida and not somewhere else. :)

I was wondering why you treat all the supers separately Angi?  I did the same thing last summer and some members here told me I was doing to much work taking the whole hive apart. It also seemed to really disturb the hive everytime I removed all the supers. And I was dusting every week.

They said just powder dust the top super and it falls down to the other supers. That is what I am doing now. Just the top supers.

Just asking because I want to know what your experience has been with this.

Thanks
Annette

>Do just the lower brood hive?

Do just the boxes with brood. This could be more than one box.

So what you are saying is. If there is 2 brood boxes then take apart those 2 boxes and dust separately?? Or just dust the top of those 2 boxes???

Thanks

I told my wife it was OK to give my bees some sugar this weekend and she blew a kiss at them said to let her know if they needed more. :)

You might get by with just the top one, but if I was desperate enough to treat, which I'm not, I'd do them both.
