To any one who has been following my posts on this introduction of a new queen into this queenless hive, here is the updated news.

I am not sure!!!!!!

Queen introduced in plastic cage last Tuesday
Checked on her 2 days later and it did not look like a welcome committee
Checked again last Sunday (5 days after introduction) and it all looked very peaceful and thought she was accepted

Well I went up today to remove the plastic cage hoping they had released her and well, yes they ate out the candy plug and I found the 2 worker bees dead in the cage and no sign of her. I checked really carefully if one of them was her, and no it was not. Definitely worker bees dead.

What gives with this???? Would they have accepted her and not the 2 workers bees after so many days in the hive together??? My worry is they killed her also and dragged her body out of the cage.

The hive actually looks really, really good, Calm and peaceful with a good energy.

Anyone have experience with anything like this???

Thanks
Annette

Could be it was just their time to go.

Calm and peaceful sounds like a hive with a queen.  I'm with Jerrymac - it was probably their time to go - they wore themselves out babysitting her!

Well, it's likely you've had a virgin queen in the hive all along.  It's also possible that they accepted her after they killed the attendants.
