Parent Hive, Swarm Hive & 2 Packages!

Parent hive is bursting with bees, all seems well.

Swarm hive, looks good, bees were calm, they are on empty foundation and seem to have made a queen. The bees are very dark in color.  There are a lot of dead drones on the ground outside their front porch...what does that mean?

The 2  new Russian-Yugos look great...calm bees, drawing out from the 4.9 nicely, queen released...

Hi Sharon,

Is the swarm from the parent hive? I recall you posting about a swarm but was unsure where it came from. I am glad to hear everything is going well. Good luck with your Yugos, oh I mean Russians. I have a colony of them and love them the best! They always seem to fly no matter what the weather and while not the biggest, seem to be the happiest colony I have.

Thanks Dennis B...yes so fay ( 1 week ) the RCY's are great...hope I really saw eggs in that white wax!
