cold weather and inspections

how cold can I open and do an inspection. ? if the bees fly can I look inside.
Each new day brings decisions,  these are  new branches on the tree of life.

I know people that open it up in 20 degree weather. If they are flying, go ahead and open it up and take a look. Just remember that the more time you spend in the hive, the more energy the bees are going to have to expend to warm the hive again.

If the bees are flying you can open it up.  It should probably be in the 60's F before I'd look into the brood nest for very long.

Well the temp is 51 degrees here now. I went an looked its been 3 days since the queen was released. I really wanted to check it out. One i found the queen, but I didn't see any eggs?? The cell have what looks like sugar water.
The other I couldnt see her? bees where doing there thing though? I really wanted to see that other queen.
