I tell ya.........weird stuff just seems to happen to me!

This afternoon I was in the garage working on some frames for the next hive body that I will place on top of the packages that I hived last Sunday.  An aerosal can of LIQUID WRENCH fell off of the top shelf, hit the floor, ruptured, and sprayed this stuff over everything, including me!  A bunch of my frame parts were splattered with the spewing Liquid Wrench cannister.  I washed all of the wooden parts in liquid dish soap as best that I could.  But I don't know anything about the effect this spattering could have on the bees even though I have washed the frame parts.

My question...............should I trash these spattered parts and buy new frames?

Thanks!

Is there a noticeable odor about them? Could you lightly sand the affected pieces? If there is a strange odor, the bees might not like that, who knows.

I would replace if wax foundation. If plastic wash and use after aging outdoors to get residual oils off. I would age outdoors regardless of whats its made from.

If it's just wood frames without foundation or with plastic foundation, I'd put them outside and let them get rained on and air out until I don't notice the smell.  If it's wax foundation, that may not work so well and I don't know if the liquid wrench wouldn't just melt the wax anyway...

Thanks for the input!

After I washed the frame parts in dish soap, I placed them in the sun to dry.  I will check them today to see if I notice any smell from the Liquid Wrench.  Fortunately, I was just before assembling the parts and there was no foundation involved.  I will keep you posted!
