For those of you who put their old queens in alcohol, what is the ratio of queens to alcohol volume to time soaking before the tincture can be put to use?

I took an old glass spice jar, cleaned it out, filled it about halfway with everclear, and now have 3 queens in it. I probably won't add more until next year. I'm guessing this is not enough to use yet.

Any will help some for swarm lure, but it's past prime swarm season at this point.

I know it's past swarm season, I'm thinking ahead. I didn't have any queens to replace this spring during swarm season...I've just assumed the stuff keeps for quite some time...bad assumption?
