Hello all.  Just a short intro, I guess.  Wife and I own a small, I guess you would say Hobby, farm on the high plains here in NE Colorado.  40 acres...nothing fancy.  We raise some sheep, a few goats, several head of cattle and a bunch of poultry.   I am ex Army, retired, and just wanted to return to my roots.   And now along with all the other critters, I am wanting to add a couple hives of bees.  We would like to have our own honey and then either sell or give away the excess to our family and friends and neighbors.  We currently do not have any hives so I have come here as one more way to learn as much as I can about beekeeping and then the best way to obtain the hives and bees.

At any rate, welcome to the forums!
I'm assuming that you look for gold sometimes too? Theres a guy in here who looks for gold and he posted awhile back if there were anybody else in here who goldpanned, but I cant remember who he was..I bet he'll find you soon enough tho!
Have a good time in here! It gets silly sometimes, but we all have bees in common!!

There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold.  The Arctic trails have their secret tales that would make your blood run cold.  The Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see, what the night on the marge of Lake Lebarge, I cremated Sam McGee.  Robert Service
