Drones ????

I understand the reason a drone has no father. Will someone explain to me how he has a Grandfather.

The queen had a father, but she lays an unfertilzed egg (fatherless) which results in a drone. I guess you could interpret this as asexual reproduction, worms do this as well as some other species of insects.      only the female of this species needs a male to replicate. Also to further complicate this workers can also produce drones and they never mate,but now I am told some laying workers can produce females also--- a little confusing huh? I thought so. :? Of couse you are joking.
