sure is a pretty sight, unless its coming out of one of your hives. I moved a hive back here to the house a week ago so I could split it tomorrow. I pulled up in my truck just in time to see the swirling cloud above the hive. It went up above a power pole, due west, over an orange grove and into the blinding sun. Oh well, I'll go get another hive to split this weekend, work permitting. And I can write RQ (requeened) 04/09 on the side of that swarmed brood box.

There is an electricity in the air when they swarm.  It's magic.

I had one of my hives swarm last year. I was setting in the back yard and i watched it all go down from them flying above my head in a large cloud to all of the bee's landing in a pine tree in my back yard it was a site to see

Even though I do not want them to do this, I would love to experience it at least once.

My hive did it last year and my granddaughter walked right into it she thought it was cool wasn't scared a bit.
