 :)

After 59 months, finally my first honey from the girls. just had to take a pic of the final product. I only took 2 medium frames.

I would have had 5 full bottles, but, had to sample.   What can I say ?????

luvin honey

I'm picturing endless swarming, absconding, bears, wasps, dearths and other assorted disasters  :'(

What lovely honey, though! However long you waited for it, it must be so satisfying to have it. Can't wait to harvest some here!

OOPS........ meant 59 weeks. But I did have some issues last year. One swarm, one hive died, then lost two hives over the winter. I did a split this spring, about 6 weeks ago. The split hive is doing great. I let them make thear own queen since it would be the daughter of my other quen, and she is a workaholic. Checked them yesterday and there is a ton of eggs, larva ind capped brood. I didn't see the new queen, but she is obviously there.

The parent hive is booming. I will go back in next week for some more honey.

I am not sure the exact source, but red bud is the major spring flow here.

(wow that's some well earned honey) that is a nice light color. I'll be checking today for a few frames worth. I'll leave them a bunch (in addition to community feeding) are those 16 oz bottles?
