Marine & Terrorist

A U.S. Marine squad was marching north of Fallujah when they came upon an Iraqi
terrorist, badly injured and unconscious.

On the opposite side of the
road was an American Marine in a similar but less serious state. The
Marine
was conscious and alert, and as first aid was given to both men the
squad leader asked the injured Marine what had happened.

The Marine
reported, "I was heavily armed and moving north along the highway, and coming
south was a heavily armed insurgent.  We saw each other and both took cover
in the ditches along the road.

I yelled to him that Saddam Hussein was a
miserable, lowlife scum bag who got what he deserved, and he yelled back that
Ted Kennedy is a fat, good-for-nothing, left wing liberal drunk who doesn't know
how to drive.

So I said that Osama Bin Laden dresses and acts like
a mean-spirited hooker!

He retaliated by yelling, "Oh yeah? Well, so
does Nancy Pelosi!"

"And, there we were, in the middle of the road,
shaking hands, when a truck hit us."

"Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me . . . Anything can happen, child. Anything can be"

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Theodore Roosevelt 1907
