I decided to do a late season split of a weak hive into two OH's, hoping that they make it through the winter when they otherwise wouldn't. Anyway I needed a queen ASAP. I called Kona Queen, and they sent over an Italian right away. Customer service was excellent. The queen took 6 days to make it here, when it was supposed to take 2-3 (post office's fault, not theirs). When they found out about it, they sent a second queen on day 5.

All in all, they sent me two queens for the price of one. In the end it cost them more in shipping for the two queens than I spent on the first queen.

Additional good things I can say:
1. Excellent customer service. Kind, receptive, understanding, polite.
2. Queens are available year round

Only bad things I can say:
1. They only offer Italians or Carniolan (and Carniolans were sold out)
2. The long distance between Hawaii and North Carolina means difficulties in shipping, even when you send it express mail.

Just thought I should mention what a good job they did. Bravo!

Thanks for taking the time to post the comments.  Normally, you only hear about disappointments.  I'm sure Kona appreciated the compliments.

Sounds like they are up to their same-o, same-o habits.  :-D

They have always been quick and dependable, with a great product.

I have had kona queens before, they were the first bee's I ever owned, they are gentle bee's and good honey producers.
THAT's ME TO THE LEFT JUST 5 MONTHS FROM NOW!!!!!!!!
