We just got a good batch of snow from the major storm that just hammered the plains.  I went out to check my hives - all are still alive, although one was so weak, I initially took it for dead.

This one shows the line of bees being discarded, exiting or not surviving cleansing flights.

Great pictures Tyro.... boy am I glad I live in Florida! Would know what to do in that snow.... the trail of bees looks interesting. Does look like ones that couldn't make it back to the hives.

thanks,
The 'bee trails' aren't anything that I am concerned about.  It is probably an accumulation from maybe 5 -7 days.  But it is interesting how they only occur in the low points between the drifts.

Good photos. I always say we could use all the snow we can get but I sure dont miss getting all that snow.
