Hubby and I went out for Thai food today, and to the mall, (I bought a backup drive for my new apple laptop). Home now and will just watch a movie and watch the ball drop in Times Square.

Chin up, warmer days are ahead :rainbowflower: :rainbowflower:

I always like to see December 21 come and go.  The days are now getting longer, even if I can't really tell yet.  It's not the cold as much as the short daylight hours that bugs me.
But the garden catalogs have started to arrive and I can start to plan the garden for 2010.

Stay warm, drink hot cocoa and plan the bee season for this year.

Happy New Year!
We love the girls...

Ah this snowy mess
will shortly turn into a muddy mess
leaving us with a mess of things to catch up on.
But its the mess that attracts me to this way of life.
For sufferage is good for the soul and someday I'm sure to be a saint.
And I know of no other path to grace I would care too take, as I am to lazy to just sit all day and pray.

Have a wonderfully fullfilling new year and may at least most of your dreams come true.

Relax, step back, take a deep breath, the finger you save just might be your own!

What are you using for backup software?
I'm using Macrium Reflect Free Edition 4.2 build 2098.  It's recommended by CNET.com (4.5 Stars out of 5), easy to use and free.
If you'd like to try it, its available here=

I don't know much about these things, but I bought a "Lacie all terrain hard disk 320GB ). All I know is you plug it into the laptop and go to time machine and it backs things up.  I may or may not keep it. I am going to look around a bit.

I agree with you HAB winter stinks.  In the summer I am always outside and in the winter the only time I go out is when the trash needs to be taken out or to an from the car.  I cannot wait for the return of summer even if it is like last summer, with only 4, 90 degrees days.

Aw... c'mon!  Winter's not that bad!  I can finally break out the snow shoes and trudge up the mountain!  Perhaps I need to post some pics so y'all can see that the world takes on a whole different beauty when everything is covered in white, and you're on top of a mountain!

Yep!  Used to love the snow.  Skiing, sledding, etc. were so much fun when I was young.  But now I'm 56 and a Quad in a powerchair it takes on a whole new meaning. Springtime, that's my funtime now.

I can understand why you are looking so forward to warmer weather then!

4 days of 90 degrees I can't handle it that hot. 70 to 75 is just fine with me.
The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling.
And even more beautiful is knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!

Then you would have loved the weather this year.  On July 1st we logged a high temp of 68 degrees and August which is usually a scorcher had an average of 71.8.
