Just got out of my two hives earlier. It's my 3rd inspection since I hived two new packages into brand new equipment.  So far, all seems well!  One hive is a little more drawn out than he other. I suspect I'll need to add another deep to one hive by next week.  Overall, one hive has about 6 of the frames fully drawn out. The other hive has about 4.  Is this normal for 30 days later? I still have them on Sugar Water.  Oh, and I found a little cell like protrusion on the bottom of one of my frames.  Not sure it's a Queen cell; maybe a drone cell?

Thanks!

Jim,
If its hanging down the frame, as compared to the cell on the face of the comb which are straight out, then it would be a "queen cup". Once they place a egg into the cup and start a queen, then it becomes a queen cell.

Just remember, queen cells hand down the comb, and all other cells (worker, drones) hang straight out.

Queen cups are always around and nothing to be concerned about.
