I went out and watched the hives for a while today around noon. All the hives (I have three) had plenty of bees coming back loaded with pollen. Some of them had pollen sacs the size of match heads on each leg! Just what are they doing with all this pollen? Probably a dumb question, but they are really bringing it in right now. Since these are new hives, I am hoping this is a good sign and a positive activity.

Pollen is their food. They also feed it to the brood. It is a great sign that you probably have brood they are taking care of.
