Pretty house, industrial bees, but pissy. I don't like overhead removals, had lots of honey dripping down on my veil/face. Had to wash two jackets when I got home.

Left nuc in place. Went back with Schawee yesterday evening and we vacuumed a bunch of bees up which he combined with another hive.

Nuc is full of bees covering brood.

Hopefully I get the queen on this one but I do have eggs from the cut out if not.

Schawee, watch out! George sure likes the red umbrella!  :-D

Not only veil, but gloves, too. Those ladies must have been testy.

Probably mad about too much oil in their water around there.  :-D

Iddee, I can't really blame the bees for being a lil pissy. There were a ton of them and it was difficult to work in that area without smooshing a few, who of course put out alarm pheromone.

The only thing I regret about this job is that I don't have footage of a three lb honey comb section falling right on my face. It was messy but tasty, but just too dang messy!  :-D

I hope the comb had been cleared of bees first. I have gotten a neck and shoulder full of stings that way, and it AIN'T fun.

Looks like those sections of comb were perfect frame size...no trimming needed?

Good job again Bro!

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Nice video. I was wondering if you owned a suit  :-D

JP

Iddee, the section was free of bees, so I was just powed with honey.

Scott, they did not require much trimming, you're correct.

Shawn, I own several suits, just don't like wearing 'em!  :-D

This was a good one and I am curious about something.  You said the bees are still going in and out of a section in the brick. So would that be another hive or the same one with the queen in that section.???  If you go back and they are still going in and out, what  will you do then??

JP

Only one colony Annette and I'll let you know how it all turns out.

Your videos are so informative . . . and entertaining! I hope to get into cut outs some day.

JP

Thanks special, glad you're getting something out of them. I sure enjoy making them.

Awesome video JP! Would like to see what you do with a hive when you get it to your yard and how soon you release the queen. You do such a good job with your videos and I have learned so much from them. Thank you!

JP

Quick update on this hive folks. I went by earlier this evening and the only bees going in and out were in the nuc. Nothing underneath the eave and none by the metal flashing that meets the brick.

Went by tonight, right at dark and hauled them away. Had Schawee meet me at my house to pick this one up and the second hive from the house in Avondale which had two hives.

We opened the nuc and the queen is in there and we watched her laying!
