There was a guy in ABJ that only had 70. :D

Take the number of hives, multiply that by what the expected honey yeild might be, and multiply all of that by what you think a pound of honey would sell for.

The 70 hives producing 200 pounds of honey each at $4 per pound would give an income of $56,000. You may check my math.

But don't forget to minus out the cost of bottles, labels, replacement hive parts, queens, medication, advertising..... etc.
Surely I'm missing something in that list. :) Not trying to discourage you, just giving you something to think about.

Foundation, gadgets, lost hive tools, pakages of bees, queen marking pens, queen rearing kits, new bee suits when the old one gets a "leak"...

If you want to make $1,000,000 in beekeeping, start with $2,000,000.
