I was at a bee meeting one time and a man had some candy boards made. He took a regular hive deep frame, layed it flat on his kitchen table on wax paper and poured the frame full of the candy. He then just pulls an empty frame from the hive and slides it in.

I have a couple hives I'm worried about making it through the winter on low stores. I fed them 2-1 syrup this fall but its getting too late to keep feeding it. I would like to make a few of these candy boards.

Does anyone have a good recipe for this purpose? The candy in the frames was pretty hard and solid. He said it worked great and you could slide it in right with them where they get to it good.

Update: I went with ROBO's recipe and they turned out great. I made 5 large and 6 med frames of candy yesterday and all went well. I will try and post a link to some pics but last time I tried it wont let me yet.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

did you do it on your kitchen table?    I have made them before on my garage floor and they can be quite mess.
