Hello all,

2 hives (and more being constructed in the shed,) and 2 kids under 2 in rural Australia.

I'm a journalist by trade, and have done a few stories with apiarists, each time I got more and more obsessed with bees until a professional apiarist was kind enough to help set me up.

My wife and I love going to check out how the girls are doing while my eldest daughter likes saying goodnight to the bees most evening.

Have already discovered that honey straight from the hive tastes sweeter than anything else!

Love talking to people wherever and whoever they may be.

Welcome to the forum.   There are quite a few Aussies that post here.

Kan-ok bees

You sure have a lot of bad luck with the weather this year.My heart is with you and   you all have been in my prayers but that may not help much    Merl

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
